Sherlock can only barely believe he said it himself. His defenses are cracked right now with worry and anger. And if admitting his obvious-to-everyone jealousy got them closer to finding Watson, then he'd admit it. The shift in the other man's expression and body language, along with his reassurance, causes Sherlock's expression to soften as well, his anger toward the profiler to cool. Enough, at least, to focus on finding his partner and the other man's fiancé.

"And she was to meet you with those photographs," Sherlock says, bringing up political rumor forums on the screen and scanning them for mentions of the senator in question. "Who was her contact?"
